BIOGRAPHY:

My name is Kaylie McGrath, I am from Georgetown Texas, where I attended elementary through graduation from Georgetown High School. I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career where I could work with children. I went on to study my undergraduate at Texas State University in San Marcos. There I recieved my bachelors in Elementary education. During my schooling I student taught in Dripping Springs at Walnut Springs Elementary where I then found my home as a teacher. This will be my third year teaching third grade at Walnut! I am so very eager and excited to be starting my second year here at Walnut Springs and to meet a new group of awesome students! 

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:

"There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period." As I guide students through learning I find that I too learn something new every day. I know my teaching journey has just begun but it is my passion for teaching, improving schools, and being a meaningful, positive influence for students that drives me towards my goal of being an exceptional teacher. I lead a classroom that is full of engaged learners who come to school every day eager to learn, a room full of students who have a love for learning that will last a lifetime. In my classroom students work with each other and create new things. I believe in guiding my students to think outside the box and encourage students to share their own thinking and stumble and make mistakes along the way. My classroom is positive and loving place where all students care about one another and about their community. It is my philosophy that students should be empowered to be leaders both inside and outside of the classroom. I am eager to spend the year with each of my students and to get to know them and to meet each of their individual needs so that all of my students may succeed to their greatest potential and grow throughout the year! I hope to encourage students to have a growth mindset and always choose to learn from struggle and mistakes.
